Queuing Models for Analyzing the Impact of Trajectory Uncertainties on the NAS Flow Efficiency

چکیده
The application of Queuing Theory to quantify the relationships between trajectory uncertainties due to aviation operations, precision of navigation and control, and traffic flow efficiency in the National Airspace System is discussed. This work builds on a previous research effort on Markovian queuing network models of the NAS. Two approaches for incorporating the trajectory uncertainties in the queuing networks are discussed. In the first approach, an approximate queuing method that models the service distributions with the first and the second moments of the traffic flow parameters is discussed. This approach employs the Queuing Network Analyzer formulation discussed in the literature. The second approach advances a methodology for introducing the trajectory uncertainties through a set of uncertainty service nodes in a Markovian model of the NAS. The modeling approach is discussed for multiple spatial discretizations. Sample results for the U.S. National Airspace System are given.

A new mathematical model based on the alternative process routings in presence of a queuing system in a dynamic cellular manufacturing system has been proposed in this paper. This model integrates two problems of cell formation and inter-cell layout and also an efficiency factor which is defined for minimizing the cell load variation through the maximizing the busy time for all machine types. In...
متن کاملIdentifying and Analyzing Stop and Go Traffic based on Asymmetric Theory of Driving Behavior in Acceleration and Deceleration
Stop and go traffic that leads to oscillate traffic flow frequently is observed on congestion flow. Unexpected reasons such as lane – changing maneuvers, lower speeds of leader vehicle and moving bottleneck cause stop and go traffic and amplifying delay and environment impacts. Stop and go traffic exactly can’t be modeled by traffic models, and also car following models based on kinematic flow ...

One of the most important issues in the plant layout design especially in mass production organizations with high inter-plant logistics is‘material flow and inter-plant traffic analysis and its effects on the production capabilities or pauses in production lines. In this paper the inter-plant traffic analysis issue on the basis of single channel queue model (M/M/1) is analyzed in a carmaker c...
متن کاملLane Change Trajectory Model Considering the Driver Effects Based on MANFIS
The lane change maneuver is among the most popular driving behaviors. It is also the basic element of important maneuvers like overtaking maneuver. Therefore, it is chosen as the focus of this study and novel multi-input multi-output adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system models (MANFIS) are proposed for this behavior. These models are able to simulate and predict the future behavior of a Dri...
